when my mom accidentally lost her 50 year old peeler that is irreplaceable, I panicked. I really thought I would someday inherit that peeler. Over the years I've purchased probably 10-15 peelers that just didn't work as well as that old reliable peeler of my mom's. That was until I purchased the Zyliss swivel peeler! This peeler "rocks"! It's even better than my mom's old peeler. After using it the first time, I ordered my mom one, too. She loves it and says it's better than old "reliable". If you are looking for a peeler that works flawlessly, is comfortable to use, this is the one! well worth the money.Customer Review: MOST AMAZING PEELER EVER

Nice sharp high quality stainless steel blade. That's what a peeler is all about. The ergonomic handle is excellent as well and makes it very easy to hold and control.. I also like the snap in place blade guard to protect the blade from damage getting tossed around in drawers, etc.
I actually had a tupperware peeler that I liked quite a bit but I destroyed it by accident. The tupperware had a carbon steel blade which made it work well but you had to take care of it by drying it off to keep it from rusting. Other wise a good peeler but not in the same class as the Zyliss. I also have a OXO I should just throw away.
I can't see an experienced cook not loving this item.

This peeler is nice and sharp and works incredibly well. The only thing I don't like about it is that it takes off too much of the vegetable itself along with the peel. The peelings should be thinner.
